Miss You

It's been a few weeks and I took this one pretty hard.

We had to put Mr. Charlie down.
His liver has been bad for about 2 years but we gave him plenty of water and he had his daily supplement. I had him convinced it was a snack.
If you knew Charlie you knew he was a snacker.

He wasn't the cleanest dog, he would bite you if you got between him and his food. he would pee in the house sometimes and he had gas that would make a statue leave the room, but he was Mr. Charlie and he had a personality that would make up for any of those flaws.

He was a magnet for the girls. Ted would take him to the beach and would use Charlie to lure in the ladies. It worked 50% of the time very well, the other 50% is when he would see a girl he would pass some gas and the deal was OFF.
One girl in particular came over and he gassed and she turned ,giggled, and turned back and continued to pet him. She looked up at Ted and said it was OK these things happen.
Ted should have proposed to her right on the spot!

His kidney is what did him in.

He was my morning guy. He put some time in with me loading my van, taking out the trash and recyclables and other morning chores. When done I would give him a snack and he knew it too.

Take care Mr. Charlie, I know there is a big grassy field somewhere with concrete pads and sun rays where they can lay without any hassles. That's where all the pets go, they sleep in the sun and get snacks whenever they want.
A real dogs and cats life.

Not the Old but the New Minglewood Blues

One of my favorite foot stomping Grateful Dead songs...........always a good time.

I was born in the desert Raised in a lion's den
I was born in the desert Raised in a lion's den
Oh, my number one occupation is stealing women from their men

Well, I'm a wanted man in Texas, busted jail and I'm gone for good.
Said, I'm a wanted man in Texas, busted jail and I'm gone for good.
Well, the sheriff couldn't catch me,
But his little girl sure wish she could.

Well now the doctor call me crazy, sometimes I am, sometimes I ain't,
Said now the doctor call me crazy, sometimes I am, sometimes I ain't,
Yes, and the preacher man call me sinner
But his little girl call me saint.

Well a couple shots of whiskey women `round here start looking good,
I said a couple shots of whiskey women `round here start looking good,
A couple more shots of whiskey, I'm going down to Minglewood.

Said, I was born in the desert Raised in a lion's den
Said, I was born in the desert Raised in a lion's den
Yes and my number one occupation is stealing women from their men

I was born in the desert Raised in a lion's den
Oh, my number one occupation is stealing women from their men

Hopefully the a/c in your home is fine tuned and purrin like a kitten because it is on the warm side out there this week and the weather persons says it's here to stay.

Ted leaves on Monday July1st. Time to get my refrigerator back.

 I'm going down to Minglewood.

Down but not out

Pneumonia

Talk about taking the wind out of your sail. I started to feel ill on May 15th.
Went to the doctor a few days later and they said it was a virus. Gave me a doughnut and told me to stick closer to church oriented activities.

A week goes by and I go back and they told me I am upgraded to bronchitis.  They gave me antibiotics and told me to drink plenty of fluids.

Another week goes by and I am feeling like death warmed over. I couldn't blow out a candle if I tried and I was hacking everything but the kitchen sink.
Swabs, x-rays, poking and touching and a breathing treatment later they declare it is pneumonia. They gave me more and stronger antibiotics, steroids and a at home inhaler told me to get lots of rest and watch daytime TV.

I kinda took the advise, I took the drugs and breather and I slept like a rock at night but I still needed to go to work.
I only sat in the office and did paperwork but each day at around 11 I needed to go home for lunch and a 2 hour nap and come back in till around 4 or so. I was exhausted.
I sat on the couch all weekend watching the US Open and I am defiantly on the mend.

35 days.

Like I said down but not out.
