Long Lost Ghost Ship (more like a dingy)

Sunday Morning the phone rings. Martin County Sheriffs Marine Division.

Oh Boy.

The officer explains to me they found my boat (missing the motor) that was stolen from me.

GREAT NEWS!!

I reported my boat stolen in September.

September 2001.

Thats right it is not a miss print. September 2001.

That is 6 1/2 years, and 3 hurricanes.

It was under a mans dock on the Manatee Pocket for the last 18 months or so. He said it drifted there and he has been calling the county for months to get rid of it.

The clincher of all this is was less than a quarter of a mile away from were it turned up missing.

It is beat up a bit and will take some time, money and energy to repair, but what else should I do on something that made such a journy.

Funny stuff.

Thanks from everyone calling and getting the last of the calanders.

It was a Sold Out Show.

Till next time.

New tour shirts are in

Sorry that it has been sooooo long from my last blog.
Alot of people have been calling and asking if everything is all right. Well everything has been fine and everyone has been healthy.
The long awaited 2007 Spring Tour shirts are finally in. I have been distributing them to our listed customers and the response has been very positive. I had ALOT of headaches getting these shirts so I'm not as stoked as others but what do I know.
Now that the computer, printer, and camera are up and running properly again I hope I'll be updating weekly like I promised.
Till next week stay cool and have fun.

PS I still have 2008 calenders if you need or want one call me 283-7222.

Green Grass and High Tides

Tuesdays high tide at Manatee Pocket at 2 PM.
Well the storm "NOEL" is still 24 to 48 hours away but we have taken all of our survival actions.
The house is boarded, and the gas tanks are full.
Tonight we will wrap the children in tinfoil, and tie ropes and life jackets to the toilets.
Will post after the storm passes.

New 10 Ton System

Hey Now,
Thought it would be cool to show some before and after photos of a 10 ton system we replaced last week.
This is the kitchen system at Lost Lake Clubhouse.
Ten ton air handler with two 5 ton condensers. When the system is calling for 3 or less degrees of cooling only 1 outdoor unit runs and maintains temps and humidity.
When system needs more than 3 degrees both outdoor units come on and takes care of business.
Thanks for the positive E-mails.
I'll try to keep up the posting weekly.

Rats...Rats...and more Rats.

There is nothing worse in this world than to deal with rodents in your attic. Once a rodent finds an access place into your attic they will stay for a very long time. If there is a food and or water source around they may never leave.
Why am I writing about this? Last week we had to deal with river rats. Hundreds of river rats spread around 3 to 4 thousand square foot attic on Sewalls Point. River rats smell more than a conventional rat and they get BIG. I have seen river rats as big as a cat.
How do I know if I have rodents in my attic? The first would be a musty odor in your home, this is not always detected from the home owner. The second way is to hear scraping sounds from your upstairs or the sound of scurrying feet. The third and worst way is when insulation comes out of your vents in the house and that room stops cooling.
How do I get rid of these rodents? First of all I recommend you contact a professional for this situation. They will trap, (live and dead trapping) bait, and I have even seen one man shoot these pesky critters with a pellet gun. If all else fails a female cat will LOVE to hunt for you in the attic.
Till next week may your crawl space be clear of rodents, and always STAY COOL.
